Yes, you can bring your dog and sit in the carpeted bar area of the pub or on the pub patio, but dogs are not allowed into the zoo area, with the exception of assistance dogs. Assistance dogs must be wearing a high visibility vest, and whoever brings them must carry their documents proving their identity and training.

Most of the animals we have here originally came from private people who can no longer look after the animals for one reason or other. The rest of them have arrived here from other zoos and may be involved in monitored breeding programs or stud books.

Yes, we do also serve a range of food and drink on site and because we keep our gate fee as low as possible, we rely on the sale of food and drink to pay for the ongoing care of the animals, as well as the maintenance of the site.

No, however, we do offer a range of animal experiences such as meerkat and lemur feeds or a Keeper For A Day experience.

We have lots of wheelchair users come here and visit the zoo, as such we have tried to make it as accessible as possible. However, there are two areas that consist of gravel pathways that may prove to be more difficult for wheelchair users. We do have disabled access toilets, but the pub is a 17th century building, and as such does have a few steps.
