VISIT THE ZOO

Fun for all the family!

Easter Half Term at The Fenn Bell

Easter Half Term is always a wonderful time to visit The Fenn Bell Conservation Project. While some years have included larger themed events, our focus remains on creating engaging activities that connect directly to the conservation work we carry out on site.

From educational word searches and interactive character experiences to hands-on outdoor activities (including getting a little muddy!), each activity is designed to be both enjoyable and meaningful. We aim to combine family fun with learning opportunities that highlight wildlife conservation and the species in our care.

To see what we got up to this Easter, including photos and event highlights, please visit our Facebook page for the latest updates.

Easter 2019 – The Red Queen’s “Unhappy Birthday”

In Easter 2019, we were visited by the formidable Red Queen, who arrived to celebrate her very unhappy birthday!

The Mad Hatter, Alice and her loyal Dodo called upon visiting children to help appease Her Royal Highness and lift her rather dramatic spirits.

Successful players were rewarded with a golden piece to present to the Red Queen, in hopes of brightening her mood and claiming their well-earned reward.

It was a wonderfully whimsical event filled with imagination, laughter and a touch of royal mischief.

Paper Mâché Easter Enrichment

This Easter, we swapped chocolate for creativity!

Visitors were invited to create their own paper mâché “Easter eggs” not the sweet kind, but specially designed enrichment items for the animals.

These creations made the perfect seasonal enrichment, encouraging natural behaviours such as foraging, exploring and problem solving. It’s a great example of how we combine fun, hands-on activities with meaningful conservation education.
